Job Summary :
We are looking for Manager - Government Affairs & Capital Planning, will be responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, securing government approvals and incentives, and supporting capital project execution for Johnson Electric’s expanding operations in India. This role will play a critical part in the successful setup and consolidation of manufacturing operations, including the transition to a new greenfield site.
Key Responsibilities :
Regulatory Compliance & Permits
- Coordinate and secure all necessary permits and licenses for plant operations (e.G., water, utilities, environmental clearances, fire safety, etc.).
- Ensure ongoing compliance with local, state, and national regulations.
Government Liaison & Approvals
Act as the primary liaison with SIPCOT and other government bodies for expansion-related approvals.Monitor regulatory developments and ensure timely action on compliance requirements.Incentives & Grants
Identify and evaluate government incentives, subsidies, and grants applicable to Johnson Electric’s investments.Prepare and submit applications and documentation to secure eligible benefits.Capital Project Support
Assist in planning and monitoring construction-related expenses for new and expanded facilities.Support project teams in ensuring cost control and adherence to budget.Business Case & Capex Management
Develop business cases and capital expenditure (Capex) budgets for expansion projects.Prepare and manage Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs) in coordination with global finance teams.Funding Coordination
Collaborate with Group Treasury and Tax teams to structure funding for expansion (e.G., borrowings, equity infusion).Support financial modeling and documentation for funding proposals.Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business Administration, or related field;MBA, Finance / CA preferred.
15+ years of experience in regulatory affairs, capital projects, or government liaison roles, preferably in manufacturing or industrial sectors.Strong understanding of Indian regulatory and industrial development frameworks (e.G., SIPCOT, SEZ, environmental norms).Proven experience in managing government incentives and capital budgeting.Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
