About the Practice Area
Sustainability and Circular Economy (SCE)- Sustainability & Circular Economy is a key transformative force that is driving Growth Opportunities of water, energy & resource regeneration / recovery across cities and industry value chains. SCE practice focuses on 4 pillars of water, used material and recycling, air quality & emissions management and ESG & ClimateTech. The research practice aims to provide Thought Leadership content based on the 6P framework that we see shaping and defining the future of sustainability and circular economy by doing “more with less”. The circular 6P framework covers Policies, Products, Processes, People / Personas, Partnerships and Platforms – the industry agnostic nature of the framework is well suited to identifying new growth opportunities linked to minimising footprint and enhancing footprint across cities and industries.
About the Role
As an Industry Analyst, you are a subject matter expert with a deep understanding of Sustainability and Circular Economy principles or / and specialization in a specific sector / s of the SCE – water, used materials and recycling, air quality & management and ESG and ClimateTech. In this strategic role, you’ll serve as a key voice across Growth Opportunity Analytics (GOA) and Growth Advisory (GA), driving thought leadership and delivering impactful insights to both internal stakeholders and clients.
You will lead client presentations on high-value topics, support in shaping the research agenda for your practice area and actively support the Sales team in business development efforts. Your expertise will guide the direction of key deliverables and ensure the relevance and depth of our market intelligence.
This role is ideal for professionals looking to elevate their industry specialization while also building strong commercial and strategic capabilities. At its core, the Industry Analyst role is about mastering your sector, identifying growth opportunities, and influencing business decisions through sharp, data-driven insights.
Responsibilities
- Research & Analysis - Conducts primary and secondary research, market segmentations, forecasts, and detailed market analysis. The IA is able to identify and analyze growth opportunities within their area of industry expertise.
- Content Creation - Takes personal responsibility for his / her own GOA deliverables from end-to-end. Provides content to feed into the Practice Area's GOA offering and Best Practices Award program. Focus is on identification and analysis of market growth opportunities. Will contribute to the focus and content of GOA subscriptions as a market expert and support Practice Area Leader in strategic planning.
- Client Interactivity and Growth Coaching - Will gain experience and skills through working directly with clients on GOA interactive hours, analyst enquiry time and private briefings. Client interactivity will be supported and supervised by senior analysts and Practice Leader. The IA will be able to hold valuable discussions with clients around market growth opportunities.
- Thought Leadership and Visibility - The IA will build a presence on social media to showcase market expertise and thought leadership. Will take the lead on growth opportunity presentations focused on his / her own market expertise, deliver Analyst Briefings, give press interviews and produce GOA material to be used in Think Tank sessions.
- Business Development - Supports the Sales Team when required. Passes GOA leads to AEs. Completes sales queries, speaks directly with clients to support AEs.
- GOA Deliverables (GO-IN) -Takes full responsibility for completion of GOA deliverables. The IA will be focused on creating insightful and impactful content in his / her area of industry or market expertise.
- Best Practice Awards - Responsible for producing regular BP Award deliverables based on GOA deliverables. Awards may be self-written or created collaboratively through nominations shared with the BPR Team.
- Frost Radars - Responsible for producing Frost Radar deliverables in his / her market or industry of expertise. Can present the value of the Frost Radar as a tool for benchmarking companies' future growth potential.
- GOA Interactive Hours - Addresses client questions, uses GOA interactive hours to generate added value insights and generates growth opportunity ideas for GOA clients.
- Advisory Project Analyst - Will occasionally play the role of a project analyst on advisory (Advisory) projects when required, and when he / she has specific expertise that can be leveraged.Will be part of a delivery team under a project manager.
Required Competencies
The Successful candidate will have an educational background in business, market research, economics, journalism, or technology with an enthusiastic curiosity about the critical role ………. and circular economy plays in enabling business around the world. A proactive, methodical, and innovative – thinking outside the box – working practice is essential, with the ability to deliver accurate, high impact results in a fast-paced team-focused environment.
A relevant university degree (BA, BS) in Environmental Science or / and Management, Economics, Chemistry, Economics, Journalism, or technology. A postgraduate degree (Master’s or PhD) is highly regarded and considered an advantage4 – 6 years of analyst / consulting working experience within a Thought Leadership research and / or Advisory services business environment. The ability to research and write a coherent story in proper English about a topic is critical.A foundational understanding of research / investigative methodologies and business modelling (primary / secondary research, coherent story development).A foundational understanding of the Sustainability and Circular Economy and its sectors of water, used materials and recycling, air quality & emissions and ESG & ClimateTech - such as industry structure, investment flows and trends, operational practices, and competitive landscapes.Good understanding and excel in developing data deliverables, analyzing key Sustainability and circular economy market metricsDesire, curiosity, and enthusiasm to build your expertise in the Sustainability and Circular Economy domain to become a respected thought leader.The ability to network to create new relationships and to proactively manage ongoing relationships to stay relevant to the market intelligence needs of the clients.Enthusiasm for supporting business development initiatives that benefit the entire team.An analytical thought process, with outstanding written and verbal communication skills and business level fluency in English.The desire to learn public presentation skills in front of an audience and a video camera.Confident enough to present your work to a group of peers or a client and defend your analysis in a calm and professional manner.A team player who views team collaboration as an important path to professional development.Are Well-organized and detail-orientedTake ownership to work independently with remote supervisionCan multi-task and meet tight deadlinesAre disciplined and adhere to high-quality standardsIs a strategic thinker; understands how operational activities are vital in supporting the overall strategy of the businessWhat will make you succeed at Frost & Sullivan?..
