Responsibilities
Assists in day-to-day functioning of the GST and Customs duty regulatory functionAdvice, support and review of statutory matters related to GST and Customs duty including preparation, reconciliation & filing of the returns.Identify and evaluate opportunities for customs duty savings, including Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), Duty Drawback programs, and other duty reduction strategies.Working on GST Annual Returns. Filing of GST Returns GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-6 and annual return.Manages GST and Customs duty compliance and filings along with reconciliationsVerify the import goods customs documents and prepare the final document for customs clearance.The manager will work closely with other departments, including logistics, supply chain, legal, and finance, to optimize duty costs, mitigate risk, and ensure timely and accurate reportingProvide tax advice on ad-hoc business issues or projects as needed.Advise on the GST implications of corporate structure, including business operations, investments, and joint ventures.Support on review and negotiation of contracts from an overall tax, commercial, finance and regulatory perspectiveUpdate and implement the latest changes in laws as applicable on timely basisSupport requirements of business and operations team in day-to-day functioning and new business initiativesCoordinate with external auditors for statutory audits, tax audit, internal audits, transfer pricing certifications etc.Assisting in financial / regulatory diligence / audit by third partiesIdentify and drive automation and process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and quick reference summary dashboards etc.Required Qualifications
Chartered Accountant with 5-7 years of post-qualification experienceThe person is expected to take hands-on initiatives and lead and execute activities in his / her areas with minimum supervision / monitoring or assistance.Should be a problem solver, take the initiative, and proactively reach out to stakeholders to solve deadlocks / issues.Should have in-depth knowledge of indirect taxes and Foreign Trade PoliciesExcellent oral and written communication skillsIntegrity, with an ability to handle confidential informationAbility to multitask and manage expectations of relevant stakeholders from time to timeShould have a positive attitude, be a good team player, be willing to learn, and be flexible to adapt to varied roles within the finance functionGeneral Requirements
