Larsen and Toubro Limited was awarded the Hyderabad Metro Rail Project by the then Government of Andhra Pradesh. L&T incorporated a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) - L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited ("The Company") to implement the Project on Design, Built, Finance Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis. The Hyderabad Metro Rail is the world's largest metro project in public-private partnership mode. It covers 69.2 km across three corridors, transforming Hyderabad, triggering robust economic activity around the city.

Purpose of the Role :

To manage all the legal functions of L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited under the guidance of Head - Legal.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Drafting and vetting of agreements pertaining to O&M Agreements, third party ticketing, payment solutions, last mile connectivity, optical fiber sub-letting, and retail in Hyderabad metro stations and in L&T malls in Hyderabad.
  • Due diligence on various transactions.
  • Assisting the business team for negotiating with clients and third parties on the terms of the agreements.
  • Strategizing and liaisoning with external law firms for the successful resolution of litigations and arbitrations.
  • Drafting and vetting of other documents and agreements, including Sub-License Agreements, Addendums, Cancellation Deeds, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Counters, Replies, Rejoinders, and Affidavits.
  • Providing corporate advisory on various legal issues.
  • Keeping tabs on case progress for efficient and easy tracking of the status of the matters.
  • Qualifications :

  • LLB (must); LLB + CS (optional - preferred)
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience
  • Functional Competencies :

  • Should have sound knowledge of the law and more specifically contracts.
  • Should have proven work experience of working in a reputed law firm or company as in-house counsel.
  • Should be proficient in MS Office, especially MS Word.
  • Should have an excellent command over the English language.
  • Behavioral Competencies :

  • Should be eager to learn and adapt.
  • Should be capable to work under pressure as well.
  • Should be a team player and not just an individual contributor.
