Description :
We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer specializing in databases and storage systems to design, build, and optimize our next-generation data platform. This role focuses on scaling mission-critical PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, and cloud storage environments while ensuring high availability, strong security, and operational excellence across the stack.
Responsibilities :
Database & Storage Architecture :
- Design, deploy, and maintain PostgreSQL, OpenSearch, and object-storage clusters (Azure Blob Storage / AWS S3) for high-throughput, low-latency workloads.
- Implement and maintain a schema registry, metadata catalog, and time-versioned storage architecture to support governance, lineage, and Reliability & Compliance :
- Configure and manage read replicas, backup & restore pipelines, encryption-at-rest, and WORM (Write-Once-Read-Many) compliance for regulated environments.
- Optimize query execution, indexing strategies, partitioning, vacuuming, and replication latency to ensure predictable performance at scale.
- Monitor capacity, throughput, and storage costs while driving continuous performance improvements.
Automation & Platform Integration :
Collaborate closely with DevOps / SRE teams to implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, Helm, or similar tooling.Design cross-region replication and disaster-recovery architectures to achieve resilience and minimal RPO / RTO targets.Contribute to observability integrations across logs, metrics, and traces for end-to-end platform visibility.Requirements :
Technical Experience :
6+ years of experience in database administration, data infrastructure engineering, or platform engineering roles.Deep expertise in indexing, partitioning, query tuning, sharding, replication, and overall database performance engineering.Demonstrated experience deploying and managing cloud-native database and storage platforms using Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes, or similar orchestration tools.Skills & Attributes :
Strong understanding of distributed systems, consensus protocols, and data durability patterns.Ability to design secure, compliant data storage systems adhering to industry standards.Excellent troubleshooting skills across operating systems, networks, and database layers.Effective communicator who can partner with engineering, DevOps, and security teams.(ref : hirist.tech)
