Job descriptionConduct systematic assessments of product infrastructure environments to right size overprovisioned resources and eliminate waste Build and maintain a comprehensive lever catalogue for cost savings (e.g., migration from Microsoft SQL to PostgreSQL, cloud managed services, containerization, data archiving) Map hosting costs per product and perform detailed analysis, tracking, and reporting to enable data-driven decisions Drive license optimization initiatives across Microsoft, AWS and GCP programs and other major cloud providers Implement mandatory tagging strategies across products, environments, business units, and cost centers Work closely with Finance Business Partners to align cost optimization with business objectives and financial targets Collaborate with Procurement to negotiate favorable cloud contracts and licensing agreements Partner with our CloudOps team to implement technical solutions and operational best practices Conduct cost optimization training for engineers and development managers, making FinOps a core competency Champion the initiative across the organization, winning battles to prioritize cost optimization alongside feature development Establish monthly follow-up meetings, reporting cadence, and governance structures Enhance existing product P&L dashboards with hosting cost vs. revenue ratio metrics Evaluate and implement cloud cost monitoring tools Ensure operational cost targets are incorporated early in architectural design for all new products and major initiatives. 12+ years of experience with 5+ years in FinOps, cloud cost optimization, or infrastructure management roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity Proven track record of delivering significant cost savings (20%+ reduction) in complex, multi-product SaaS environments Deep expertise in multi-cloud architectures and hybrid infrastructure including private cloud, public cloud and on-premises systems Strong understanding of SaaS business models, unit economics, and the relationship between hosting costs and revenue Experience working across multiple business units in a matrix organization, influencing without direct authority FinOps Certified Practitioner or equivalent certification strongly preferred Hands-on experience with cloud cost management tools Understanding of modern architectures : microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), serverless Familiarity with infrastructure as code and sounding Ops practices Ability to analyze and optimize licensing agreements for major platforms (Microsoft, AWS and cloud providers) Knowledge of database optimization, storage tiering, and compute right sizing strategies Strategic thinker who can balance immediate cost savings with long term infrastructure resilience Exceptional stakeholder management skills with ability to influence executives, finance leaders, and engineering teams Change agent who can build momentum and win organizational buy in for cost consciousness Data-driven with strong analytical skills and ability to translate complex cost metrics into actionable insights Collaborative approach with proven ability to work effectively with finance, procurement, and technical teams Excellent communication skills in English Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with significant complexity Pragmatic problem solver who can navigate ambiguity and prioritize effectively Passion for operational excellence and continuous improvement Ability to work across geographies and time zones Impact at scale : Transform cost efficiency across 140+ products serving 42,000+ customers Strategic role : Report directly to the CTO and influence technology strategy across the organization Innovation focus : Be part of our AI transformation, positioning EG as a leader in AI-powered vertical SaaS Professional growth : Build and potentially expand a FinOps function to also focus on optimizing AI infrastructure in a rapidly growing company Nordic leader : Join a company at the forefront of vertical SaaS in the Nordic region with a diverse technology portfolio spanning cutting-edge cloud and legacy systems Central Technology Organization placement with direct CTO reporting line Opportunity to shape the future of infrastructure economics at a scaling SaaS company Collaborative culture with passionate, skilled colleagues across 8 industries A dynamic environment in a rapidly growing software company, investing in your professional and personal development through challenging tasks and the opportunity to make your own mark on the job. About the team :
We're seeking an experienced Global FinOps Lead to drive our strategic initiative for cost-effective resilient infrastructure. This is a high impact role where you will optimize our cloud economics across 140 SaaS products, reducing hosting costs to a target of 5-7% of revenue, while ensuring our infrastructure remains robust and reliable.
You'll be the driving force behind establishing a culture of cost consciousness across our engineering organization, working at the intersection of technology, finance, and operations to deliver measurable business outcomes.

- Lead the company-wide initiative to reduce hosting costs to 5-7% of revenue across 140 SaaS products with mixed architecture patterns and multi-cloud deployments
- Develop and implement a comprehensive FinOps framework that balances cost optimization with performance, resilience, and innovation
- Partner with our 11 business units and their Heads of Development to embed cost optimization into architectural design and technical decision making processes
- Establish transparent reporting mechanisms and KPIs that increase visibility of progress and foster a culture of cost consciousness within engineering teams
