Description : About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Assistant Area Sales Manager (Instrumentation Sales) to manage and grow our business in industrial instrumentation and process control solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial automation, process instrumentation, and technical sales, with the ability to build long-term relationships with clients across sectors such as oil & gas, chemical, power, water, and manufacturing.
This role involves both strategic business development and hands-on client engagement, working closely with channel partners, OEMs, and EPC contractors to achieve sales targets and expand market presence.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve assigned regional sales targets for instrumentation products and solutions.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with end users, OEMs, system integrators, and EPCs.
- Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and commercial negotiations with customers.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate instrumentation solutions (e.g., pressure, temperature, flow, level, and analytical instruments).
- Collaborate with application engineers and product specialists to prepare accurate quotations and proposals.
- Maintain regular contact with key customers to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Manage and support channel partners / distributors in the assigned area.
- Track competitor activity and market trends to support pricing and positioning strategies.
- Prepare and present weekly / monthly sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates to management.
- Ensure timely collection of payments and maintain credit discipline in the assigned territory.
- Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, and marketing campaigns to promote company products.
- Support the Area Sales Manager in developing market plans and expanding regional footprint.
Required Skills & Expertise :
Proven experience in technical sales or business development in industrial instrumentation, process control, or automation systems.Strong technical knowledge of instruments such as :Pressure and temperature transmittersFlow meters (electromagnetic, ultrasonic, Coriolis)Level instruments (radar, ultrasonic, differential pressure)Analytical instruments (pH, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, etc.)Control valves and field devicesFamiliarity with industrial sectors such as Oil & Gas, Power, Water Treatment, Chemical, and Manufacturing.Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.Ability to interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and process documentation.Proficiency in CRM tools, MS Office, and Sales reporting tools.Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.(ref : iimjobs.com)
