Basic Functions :

The responsibilities of the Engineering Manager will be to lead a team of engineers, participate as a member of the division’s leadership team in driving sustainable, profitable results, and recruit, select and develop the talent needed to sustain and grow Nucor. This individual should be a creative, forward-thinking, process-minded, effective communicator to join our team. Additionally, the Engineering Manager’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :

Lead the division’s detailing and engineering efforts in alignment with Nucor and NTS expectations.

Recruit, select, and develop the right team with a balance of technical, business, and leadership skills.

Develop and manage the systems and processes necessary for effective execution of near and long-term division strategies.

Provide guidance and expertise in relevant engineering codes and standards.

Support division efforts in innovation through collaborative problem solving and technical support.

Provide leadership in division and group projects that target and produce the highest returns for Nucor.

Must have the ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Minimum Qualifications :

Able to communicate in English

Registered Chartered or Professional Engineer

Minimum of 5 years relevant leadership experience in an engineering department.

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience with the design of tubular steel transmission and distribution structures

Familiarity with ASCE 48, PLS POLE, Autodesk Inventor

Public speaking experience
