EY has competencies in Business Tax Services, Global Compliance and Reporting, Global Law, Indirect Tax, International Tax and Transaction Services.

Your key responsibilities

Technical Excellence

Representing clients before the High Court, Customs, Excise and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal (CESTAT), and various tax department authorities in hearings and legal proceedings.

Conducting legal research and providing consultations on indirect taxation matters including Goods and Services Tax (GST), Customs, Central Excise, and Service Tax.

Drafting legal documents such as petitions, appeals, written submissions, synopses, replies, and letters.

Managing and tracking court appearances and legal proceedings to ensure timely and effective legal representation.

Responding to official correspondence from tax officials and ensuring compliance with procedural and documentary requirements.

Maintaining regular communication with clients regarding case status, procedural developments, and strategic advice.

Preparing and raising invoices for legal services rendered to clients and keeping track of timely collection of fees and financial transactions related to legal services.

Providing specialized research on complex indirect taxation matters to inform case strategy and legal arguments.

Facilitating client understanding of indirect taxation legal frameworks and their potential impact on business operations and compliance requirements.

Providing any other legal services or support related to indirect taxation as may be required.
