Key Responsibilities / What You Do
Within the Global Operations (COO) function, the Performance and Productivity Team plays a critical role in driving strategic insights, performance optimization, and data-driven decision-making across the organization. As a Senior Operations Data Analyst, you will serve as a key business partner and trusted analytics expert, driving operational improvements and providing strategic intelligence across +50 business units and all Lines of Business (LoB), supporting approximately 17,000 FTE globally.
You will report to the Head of Reporting Powerhouse / Regional Performance and Productivity Lead and function as a technical SME and project lead, responsible for delivering advanced analytics solutions, influencing stakeholders, and independently managing end-to-end analytical initiatives. Your ability to translate complex data into actionable insights will be instrumental in supporting performance improvement, efficiency optimization, and long-term business planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a technical and analytical SME, leading the design and execution of high-impact data initiatives across global Operations.
- Develop and own KPI frameworks, analytical models, and scalable dashboards to support strategic business objectives.
- Apply advanced analytics techniques using Python, SQL, and Oracle environments to identify trends, forecast performance, and drive business recommendations.
- Independently manage analytics workstreams and provide thought leadership in identifying opportunities for process optimization and automation.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to senior stakeholders, delivering impactful insights through data storytelling and collaborative decision-making.
- Lead stakeholder engagement, facilitating cross-functional alignment on data requirements, performance metrics, and business intelligence tools.
- Support performance review processes with executive-level reporting, dashboards, and presentation materials.
- Collaborate closely with the global BI and IT teams to ensure effective deployment and integration of data platforms and tools.
Duties and Responsibilities
Advanced Analytics & Data Modeling : Build and refine complex models to interpret performance drivers and simulate business scenarios using Python, Oracle SQL, and statistical methods.Business Intelligence Development : Design robust dashboards using tools such as Power BI and integrate with backend data sources via ETL pipelines (Pentaho, SSIS).Performance Trend Analysis : Monitor key metrics, investigate variances, and provide proactive insights to support strategic interventions.Stakeholder Management : Engage and influence global and regional business leaders, understanding their needs and translating them into actionable analytics solutions.Project Leadership : Independently lead analytical projects from concept through implementation, including scoping, development, delivery, and impact measurement.Data Infrastructure & Governance : Contribute to data architecture design, implement best practices in documentation, and ensure adherence to data governance protocols.Knowledge Sharing : Mentor junior analysts, share technical expertise, and promote data literacy across business units.Key Requirements / What You Bring
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, MIS, or related fields; Master's degree preferred.6+ years of progressive experience in analytics, data science, or business intelligence roles in a performance-focused environment.Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy, data wrangling, automation) and SQL, with strong hands-on experience in Oracle database environments.Expertise in BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and ETL platforms (SSIS, or similar).Strong analytical storytelling and visualization skills using Excel (advanced), VBA, and PowerPoint.Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and act as a subject matter expert for key initiatives.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders across global and regional teams.Strong business acumen, critical thinking, and proactive problem-solving capabilities.Experience mentoring or coaching team members, and a passion for enabling a data-driven culture.Fluency in English required; additional language proficiency is a plus.Allianz Group is one of the most trusted insurance and asset management companies in the world.
