About the Role :
- As the Head of Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE), you will be a strategic leader responsible for shaping and driving our safety culture across multiple sites. You will be instrumental in our mission to achieve "Goal Zero"-a state of continuous improvement where we proactively eliminate risks and ensure the highest standards of safety and environmental stewardship.
- This is a critical leadership role that requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic foresight, and the ability to influence and inspire at all levels.
Key responsibilities :
Strategy and governance : Build and deliver the site SHE strategy, align local SOPs with corporate standards, and uphold certified management systems and site programs that demonstrably reduce risk and incidents.Regulatory compliance and audits : Ensure full compliance with statutory, customer, and corporate requirements; lead regulatory engagements (e.g., PCB, PESO), customer / third-party audits, and effective CAPA management to closure.Risk management and safe systems : Institutionalize JSA for high-risk tasks, strengthen work permits and LOTO, promote near-miss reporting, and conduct toolbox talks and inspections to prevent incidents.Culture and behavior-based safety : Champion behavior-based safety and visible leadership; use observations and feedback to reinforce safe behaviors and improve conditions-not just behaviors-within a comprehensive safety program.Emergency preparedness and incident management : Maintain Emergency Preparedness & Response plans; lead incident investigations and drive timely, effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).Environmental stewardship : Oversee wastewater and emissions monitoring, hazardous waste segregation / storage / disposal, and compliance with PCB consents and agreements; drive waste and resource reduction programs.Training and competence : Establish TNI / TNA and calendars; deliver induction and role-specific training, toolbox talks, and competency assessments; measure effectiveness and act on feedback.Performance, reporting, and reviews : Lead BU APEX reviews, track leading / lagging indicators, publish dashboards, and ensure sustained improvement of SHE outcomes and culture.Projects and change : Partner with Engineering and Operations on construction, commissioning, and change control (MOC), ensuring inherent safety and regulatory compliance throughout the lifecycle.Stakeholder management : Liaise with regulators, customers, auditors, vendors, and external partners for compliance, waste treatment, and technical support; coordinate with HR, Admin, Facilities, Security, QA, and Operations.Minimum M.Sc. / M.Tech in Chemistry or Chemical / Environmental Engineering or B.E. / B.Tech in
Chemical Engineering; Diploma in Industrial Safety preferred; NEBOSH / IOSH certification 15 to 25 years of EHS leadership in pharma / chemical operations with proven multi-site influence, regulatory compliance, and team leadership; strong command of ISO based SHE systems.
Regulatory knowledge : Working knowledge of Indian and international SHE regulations and standards (e.g., PCB requirements, PESO, hazardous waste norms, permit-to-work systems) with demonstrable audit readiness.
