Job Summary / About the Role

ARSoft Consulting is seeking a talented and detail-oriented .Net Backend Developer with proven experience in RESTful API development and system integration. This role requires a deep understanding of backend systems, API management, and integration workflows within enterprise environments. The successful candidate will contribute to delivering scalable backend services for a leading client headquartered in Australia with operations across South Africa and New Zealand.

This is a remote, full-time position offering significant exposure to international projects and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using the .Net framework (.Net Core / .Net 6+).
  • Implement secure and scalable integration solutions with third-party platforms and internal systems.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers, business analysts, and QA engineers to ensure seamless delivery of features.
  • Analyse system requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Maintain high standards of code quality through peer reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and implement fixes in a timely manner.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for systems and APIs.
  • Adhere to best practices in coding, testing, and security protocols.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in backend development using .Net Core or later versions.
  • Strong proficiency in designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
  • Solid understanding of integration patterns and middleware technologies.
  • Proficient with SQL Server and Entity Framework.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

    • Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)

  • Experience working with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
  • Knowledge of message-based architecture (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka, Azure Service Bus).
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Exposure to CI / CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Understanding of OAuth2 and modern authentication mechanisms.
