Automation Engineer

Job descriptionProven experience as an Automation Engineer or in a similar scripting / automation role. Strong expertise in PowerShell scripting for Windows systems. Solid understanding of Windows Server environments, system administration, and task automation. Experience with SQL and working with databases for automation-related data handling. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Exposure to DevOps principles and collaboration with CI / CD pipelines. Familiarity with tools such as Jenkins, Git, Azure DevOps, or similar. Basic understanding of CI / CD practices and integration with version control systems. Knowledge of automation in hybrid or cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS) is a plus. Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. [Optional : Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified : PowerShell, Azure Administrator, etc.] Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong documentation practices and teamwork mindset.
Key Responsibilities :
- Design, develop, and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation, monitoring, and provisioning tasks across Windows-based systems.
- Write, optimize, and manage SQL queries to extract, transform, and load data used in automation workflows.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, DevOps, and data engineering teams to deliver end-to-end automation solutions.
- Create reusable components, scripts, and automation templates with proper documentation.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of operational runbooks and incident response automation procedures.
- Continuously improve automation standards, tooling, and best practices.
- Participate in troubleshooting and debugging of automation-related issues in production and staging environments.
