Sr. Engineer -SAP ABAP

Description

Job SummaryDesign, code, test, and analyze software programs and applications, working primarily in the SAP environment including ECC (ERP Central Components) and Fiori.

This includes researching, designing, documenting, testing and maintaining SAP development objects. The software developer will also analyze and amend software errors in a timely and accurate fashion and provide status reports where required.

Job ResponsibilitiesDesigns, codes, tests, and analyzes software programs and applications meeting or exceeding requirements of internal and / or external customers.

Utilizes knowledge in the field of computer science or software engineering along with knowledge of software development and associated methodologies.

Determines and performs software and system testing procedures, bug verification, unit testing, and production support.Performs product design and programming activities involving multiple SAP modules.

Participates in design and planning meetings which may include developers, functional analysts, and end users of the SAP products.

Participates in meetings with the SAP team to provide status updates including communicating current work, planned future work, and any other relevant details to the teamParticipate in project quality management tasks, such as peer and quality reviews of specifications, design documents, and code reviewsEducation & ExperienceRequired : Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or technical school) or Work Equivalent, Field of Study : Software engineering or similar field.

5 plus years of experience in software development, software engineering, or similar field3 plus years of development experience in the SAP platformStrong technical knowledge of varied ABAP areas such as RICEF, IDocs, Forms and / or WorkflowUnderstanding of SAP Transport ManagementKnowledge of SAP Data Archiving desiredExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal English equiredExperience with all phases of the software development lifecycle.

Required 2nd shift work schedule 2 day / week minimum this is a remote positionAbility to work independently on smaller objects and in a team environment on larger projects.

Flexibility with work assignments, i.e., able to shift priorities to meet changing business needsPreferred : Exposure / experience with SAP S / 4HANA upgrade and / or developmentExperience with UI5 / Fiori developmentFamiliarity with Object Oriented programming conceptsFamiliarity with healthcare industry and applicable data privacy practicesSoft Skills & Abilities : Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
