Position Overview
Multi-site Controller position overseeing accounting, finance, and government compliance across India, Hong Kong, and China operations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes across all three jurisdictions
Ensure timely and accurate preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (US GAAP)
Manage staff to accomplish needed intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and eliminations across the three entities
Prepare management reports, financial analysis, and variance explanations for senior leadership
Review on an ongoing basis, implement and maintain robust internal controls and accounting policies across all locations
Regulatory Compliance & Statutory Requirements
Ensure full compliance with India Companies Act, GST regulations, and Income Tax requirements
Oversee compliance with Hong Kong Companies Ordinance, IRD tax filings, and statutory audit requirements
Manage compliance with China corporate tax laws, VAT regulations, and SAFE foreign exchange controls
Coordinate statutory audits with external auditors in all three jurisdictions
Maintain corporate registrations, annual filings, and board resolutions as required by local regulations
Tax Planning & Management
Support the Group CFO to develop and implement tax-efficient structures for cross-border transactions and fund flows
Oversee transfer pricing documentation and ensure arm's length compliance
Manage corporate income tax, withholding tax, and indirect tax obligations across all Asian entities
Liaise with tax advisors and authorities in India, Hong Kong, and China
Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess impact on business operations
Treasury & Cash Management
Oversee cash flow forecasting and working capital management across the three countries
Manage banking relationships and optimize cash positioning across jurisdictions
Ensure compliance with foreign exchange regulations, including FEMA (India) and SAFE (China) requirements
Coordinate cross-border payments, repatriation of funds, and dividend distributions
Team Leadership & Development
Lead and mentor finance teams across India, Hong Kong, and China locations
Continuous development of people using Net Suite to become more efficient and gain more information from the system to aid in business operations
Maintain and evaluate clear roles, responsibilities, and performance metrics for finance personnel
Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across geographically dispersed teams
Arrange for internal training on accounting standards, compliance requirements, and system processes
Systems & Process Improvement
Drive optimization of Net Suite and financial systems across all locations
Standardize accounting processes and chart of accounts to enable consistent reporting
Maintain existing and develop new standard operating procedures for key financial processes, document as needed
Identify automation opportunities to improve efficiency and control effectiveness
Business Partnership
Serve as strategic financial advisor to senior management on business decisions
Provide financial insights and analysis to support expansion, investment, and operational decisions
Prepare budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial plans
Required Qualifications
Education & Certification
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA, Chartered Accountant, MBA or advanced degree preferred
In-depth knowledge of accounting standards applicable to all three jurisdictions
Experience
Minimum 5-10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience
At least 5 years in a senior accounting or finance role
Demonstrated experience managing finance operations across multiple countries, particularly in Asia
Prior experience with India, Hong Kong, and / or China regulatory environments
Experience with consolidated financial reporting for multi-entity organizations preferred
Technical Skills
High level of knowledge of USA GAAP
Knowledge of India, Hong Kong and Chinese business practices
Understanding of direct and indirect taxation in India, Hong Kong, and China
Proficiency with ERP systems, specifically Net Suite preferred
Advanced Excel skills and financial modeling capabilities
Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools
Language & Cultural Competency
English fluency required for all business communication
Proficiency in Hindi, Mandarin, or Cantonese desirable
Cultural sensitivity and ability to work effectively across diverse teams
Understanding of business practices and relationship dynamics in Asian markets

Reporting Structure
Reports directly to CFO with dotted-line reporting to country general managers.
