Job description

The IT Senior Azure Architect is a key role that has overall accountability for building and leading a world class cloud design and infrastructure strategy, which is a key pre-requisite of our Digital Transformation. The architect is a subject matter expert in both best practices and emerging technologies in this space, including : Azure and cloud design, Azure AD, Azure ARC, and W365. This role will work in close partnership with other Digital / Cybersecurity team members and key stakeholders to deliver reliable cloud solutions.

  • Design and document detailed Azure solutions including network topology, compute infrastructure, storage options, security controls, and application deployment strategies.
  • Develop and maintain architecture blueprints, technical roadmaps, and documentation.
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate Azure services based on business needs, considering cost optimization and performance requirements.
  • Review and approve technical designs, ensuring adherence to best practices and security standards.
  • Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of Azure solutions.
  • Work with Digital and business teams for designing, building & operationalizing components that will grow in capability while being multi-tenant, global, scalable & highly available.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and evaluate their suitability for the nVent’s infrastructure needs.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance in resolving complex infrastructure issues and outages.

YOU HAVE :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Microsoft Certified : Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in cloud architecture, with a focus on Azure.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure services, including Azure DevOps, Azure Active Directory, Azure ARC, and Azure Security.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like ARM templates, Terraform, or Ansible.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages, especially Powershell
  • Ability to communicate with clarity and simplicity on technical and non-technical matters spanning from strategy through to execution
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities for self and team
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills and the ability to lead & influence cross functional and multinational teams

    • Preferred Skills :

  • Experience with other cloud platforms such as AWS or Google Cloud.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI / CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and compliance in cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft CoPilot Studio and other Microsoft CoPilot applications
  • Understanding of W365 and other VDI platforms
