Purpose
The Senior IT Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure. This role requires deep expertise in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, reliable, cost-effective, and scalable cloud services aligned with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure & Operations
Implement, configure, and maintain public, private, and hybrid cloud environments.
Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of infrastructure and applications.
Administer cloud networking, firewalls, and virtual networks for security and compliance.
Oversee monitoring and systems management processes for proactive issue resolution.
Perform routine maintenance, system updates, and security patching.
Automation & DevOps
Develop automation scripts for deployment, monitoring, and scaling cloud services.
Implement CI / CD pipelines to streamline deployment and operational processes.
Enable Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM templates, or CloudFormation.
Security & Compliance
Ensure adherence to IT governance, compliance, and security best practices.
Implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
Maintain strong security posture through identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and monitoring.
Cost Optimization & Resource Management
Monitor cloud usage, performance, and cost efficiency.
Develop and implement cost optimization strategies and resource utilization policies.
Generate detailed reports on cloud spending and recommend cost-saving measures.
Collaboration & Support
Work with development and operations teams to integrate cloud services.
Provide escalation support for critical incidents and ensure timely resolution.
Document outages, root causes, and preventive measures.
Support change management processes and IT service continuity management (ITSCM).

Cloud networking (VNET, VPC, Subnets, Routing, Firewalls, VPN, Load Balancing).
Storage solutions (Blob, S3, EBS, Azure Files, NAS / SAN).
Automation & Scripting
Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, Python.
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, ARM, CloudFormation).
Automation tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI / CD, Azure DevOps).
Security & Compliance
IAM, Key Vault / Secrets Manager, Security Groups, Firewalls.
Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM).
Backup, Disaster Recovery (DR), and Business Continuity.
Monitoring & Optimization
Cloud monitoring (Azure Monitor, AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana).
Cost management and optimization tools.
Performance tuning and capacity planning.
Day-to-Day Activities
Monitor cloud infrastructure health and resolve incidents.
Execute deployment pipelines and update infrastructure components.
Review cloud costs, optimize resource allocation, and implement savings.
Collaborate with developers to support cloud-native application deployments.
Document processes, incidents, and changes for audit and compliance.
Conduct regular security checks and ensure compliance with standards.
Participate in on-call rotations for critical infrastructure support.
Experience
12+ years
in IT Infrastructure with at least
6–8 years in cloud engineering
roles.
Proven expertise in managing large-scale enterprise cloud environments.
Hands-on experience with hybrid and multi-cloud strategy implementation.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field .
Preferred
Master’s degree
in IT / Cloud / Systems Engineering.
Certifications (mandatory / preferred) :
Microsoft Azure : AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-500, AZ-305.
AWS : Solutions Architect (Associate / Professional), SysOps, DevOps Engineer.
ITIL v4 Foundation (for ITSM processes).
Kubernetes (CKA / CKAD) – a plus.
Soft Skills
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work in cross-functional and global teams.
Leadership qualities to mentor junior engineers.
Strong documentation and reporting skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage critical incidents.
