Key responsibilities :

  • Conceptualize, develop and oversee the implementation of a comprehensive strategy for agri-based rural development project and skilling with community participation for the benefit of small and landless farmers and their families, aligned with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Work closely with government agencies, community-based organizations, and other stakeholders to build partnerships and mobilize resources for program implementation.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a team of program managers and specialists, ensuring that they are delivering high-quality programs and services to communities across project locations.
  • Ensure effective monitoring and evaluation of program activities, with a focus on impact assessment and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and manage the program budget, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively.
  • Engage and collaborate with organisation's functions (internal), Fundraising Team, Sponsors / Donors to drive support to the field teams in their project execution.
  • Foster a culture of innovation, learning, process orientation, system adoption and collaboration within the program team with a clear focus on building strong and motivated performance oriented teams.
  • Provide thought and idea leadership that capitalises on trends in the rural landscape and provide alternatives to the team to achieve their skilling objectives

Required Experience and Skills

  • Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., rural development, social work, public policy, etc.)
  • At least 15 years of experience in designing and implementing integrated rural development programs including hands-on experience in engaging with farmers on Agriculture and Livestock at a ground level.
  • High energy and strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of professionals.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build partnerships and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the social, economic, and political context of rural India, with a focus on aspirational districts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data and evidence. Experience with budget management, grant writing, and fundraising
