Role Overview

We are looking for a Lead Engineer who will play a key role in designing, building, and scaling Fold Health’s healthcare platform. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technologist with strong leadership skills, capable of guiding engineering teams, setting best practices, and driving the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership

Lead design and architecture discussions for scalable, secure, and resilient systems.

Collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional teams to build and deliver end-to-end features.

Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies (AI / ML, healthcare data standards, cloud-native).

Ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of applications across web and mobile platforms.

Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 10–15 years of hands-on engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in a lead / architect role. Strong expertise in Node.js (NestJS), ReactJS, React Native, Python (preferred), and TypeScript. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes). Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL, data pipelines, and healthcare data (EHR, claims, ADT, FHIR standards). Familiarity with AI / ML integration and building data-driven applications. Experience with HIPAA, security best practices, and compliance in healthcare systems. Strong problem-solving, system design, and communication skills. Proven track record of mentoring teams and delivering complex products in a startup or fast-paced environment. Good to Have Experience with healthcare integrations (Elation, Athena, eCW, HIE, claims pipelines). Familiarity with Twilio – Programable SMS and Voice calls, Mailgun emails, wearable data APIs. Exposure to BI / reporting tools (PowerBI, BigQuery). Prior experience in Value-Based Care (VBC) programs or healthcare startups.
