The role demands a strong leadership capability with a focus on government and defense sector sales. Frequent travel and client engagement are essential, particularly with key government agencies and defense organizations like DRDO, NDRF, Indian Army, BSF, etc.
Role Overview
- The DGM / GM-Sales will manage the existing sales pipeline and drive new business opportunities, primarily with government clients, PSUs, and defense organizations.
- The role emphasizes the development of proposals, tendering processes, and GeM
(Government e-Marketplace) interactions.
The position reports to the Director and focuses on strategic sales and business growth with a strong emphasis on relationship-building and government procurement processes.Key Responsibilities
1.Identifying Customers and Lead Generation
Market research to identify potential clients within government sectors and PSUs.Developing strategies to generate leads through GeM and direct engagements.2. Building Relationships with Key Decision-Makers
Engaging with decision-makers in government and defense organizations.Position Aska's products effectively by showcasing technological and operational benefits.3. Developing Presentations and Proposals
Tailoring presentations to specific needs of government and defense agencies.Addressing their unique requirements, demonstrating Aska's valueproposition.
4. Securing Approvals
Navigating the administrative and financial approval processes within government bodies to facilitate timely contract execution.5. GeM and Tendering Process
Handling GeM submissions and tender processes, ensuring compliance and preparing competitive bids.6. Managing Competitor Complaints
Addressing competitor challenges, using technical expertise to defend Aska'sposition and secure business.
7. Timely Execution of Contracts
Overseeing contract execution and ensuring project deliverables are met on time.Collaborating with project management and operations teams to resolve challenges.8. Revenue Generation
Managing and expanding the sales pipeline with government clients, PSUs, and defense organizations.Leading business development strategies through GeM, tenders, and direct relationships.9. Strategic Business Development
Analyzing government requirements and emerging trends in disaster management, fire safety, and rescue operations to position Aska's products effectively.10. Client Engagement
Extensive travel (up to 15 days / month) to engage with government officials, clients, and stakeholders.Qualifications and Experience
Educational Qualification : Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related 10 years in government relations, business development, or securing government contracts, especially in sectors related to safety, disaster response, and firefighting technology.
Proven Success : Strong track record in acquiring and executing government contracts, especially via GeM and other tendering processes.
