About the Role :
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator (DB2 Logical) to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, strong analytical capabilities, and leadership qualities to support and optimize enterprise-level database environments. This role involves working on complex assignments, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring database reliability, performance, scalability, and security in alignment with organizational and client Responsibilities Administration & Maintenance :
- Install, configure, and maintain DB2 database software and related products.
- Plan and implement database backup and recovery strategies.
- Perform database creation, configuration, upgrades, patching, and decommissioning activities.
- Conduct regular database health checks, log-file analysis, and proactive / reactive maintenance.
- Oversee capacity planning, performance tuning, and system-level architecture.
- Execute database refreshes and manage complex DB server Security & Compliance :
- Implement and maintain database monitoring frameworks for performance, availability, and reliability.
- Perform database security checks, audits, and compliance-related reporting.
- Manage database users, roles, permissions, and security / access controls.
- Ensure adherence to change control, configuration management, and company Optimization & Troubleshooting :
- Conduct complex troubleshooting, diagnose issues, and perform repairs.
- Optimize OS, storage, and DB configurations for optimal performance.
- Tune databases proactively and reactively to support high-performance workloads.
- Manage specialized environments such as clustering, replication, and log Planning & Documentation :
- Architect and implement complex database solutions for enterprise requirements.
- Contribute to physical data modeling, DDL creation, and maintenance.
- Provide infrastructure advice for upcoming programs, migrations, and initiatives.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for DBA processes, SOPs, and tools.
- Assist in disaster recovery planning, failover strategies, and DR Collaboration & Mentorship :
- Regularly lead complex assignments, serving as a subject matter expert (SME).
- Provide mentorship and guidance to less experienced DBAs.
- Collaborate with developers, support teams, and vendors (e.g., IBM, Microsoft, Oracle).
- Contribute innovative ideas to enhance DBA practices, automation, and knowledge bases.
- Utilize detailed triage processes and conduct workload analysis.
