Role Overview :
We are expanding our Application Management Services (AMS) practice and are seeking an experienced and certified AMS Functional Lead. This role is ideal for a seasoned Workday consultant who thrives in a leadership capacity, guiding teams and customers through complex Workday HCM implementations, configurations, and support engagements.
As a Functional Lead, you will play a strategic role in engaging with customers, managing delivery teams, ensuring solution quality, and shaping the Workday roadmap for clients.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead Workday AMS engagements by advising customers on their strategic roadmap, industry best practices, and solution adoption.
- Engage with stakeholders across all levels, from operational teams to C-suite executives.
- Manage and mentor a small to medium-sized team of Workday consultants to deliver quality outcomes.
- Serve as an escalation point for resolving complex functional issues.
- Architect and design cohesive Workday HCM solutions, ensuring cross-functional impacts are identified and addressed.
- Provide subject matter expertise in Workday HCM configuration, security, and business processes.
- Support, guide, and mentor junior team members, fostering professional growth.
- Collaborate with project managers and technical teams to ensure accurate effort estimates and delivery timelines.

Technical Skills : Workday Expertise :
Workday Core HCM (certified).Business Process Framework configuration.Workday Security design and administration.Country-specific HCM configuration.Workday Reporting (Advanced, Matrix, Composite Reports).Workday Calculated Fields.Workday Studio, EIBs, and Core Connectors (preferred).Experience with Workday Payroll, Recruiting, Benefits, Compensation, or Time Tracking modules (added advantage).Tools & Platforms :
Familiarity with ticketing & AMS tools (ServiceNow, Jira, etc.).Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for integrations is a plus.General Tech Skills :
Strong Excel / Google Sheets for data analysis.SQL knowledge for HR data queries (preferred).API-based integration concepts.Professional Skills :
5+ years of Workday consulting experience with at least one full end-to-end implementation.Team leadership / management experience.Strong consultative approach with excellent communication skills.Ability to deliver accurate effort estimates and manage client expectations.Bachelors degree in Technical, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).(ref : hirist.tech)
