Position Summary :

As a Plumbing & Fire Fighting (F&F) Design & Estimation Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, engineering, and cost estimation of plumbing systems (water supply, drainage, stormwater) and fire protection systems (hydrants, sprinklers, hose reels, pump sizing). You will prepare BOQs, ensure compliance with codes / standards, and work closely with MEP, HVAC, and onsite teams to deliver high-quality modular construction projects.

Key Responsibilities :

Design & Engineering :

  • Develop layouts and detailed designs for plumbing (water supply, drainage, stormwater) and fire protection systems.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations, pump / tank sizing, and pipeline design.
  • Ensure compliance with IS codes, NBC, NFPA, TAC, and other applicable standards.

Estimation & BOQ Preparation :

  • Prepare BOQs, tender documents, and detailed cost estimates for both plumbing and F&F systems.
  • Review vendor quotations and support technical evaluations.
  • Align estimation with project budgets and cost control requirements.

    • Coordination :

  • Collaborate with MEP, HVAC, and electrical teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
  • Coordinate with onsite engineers for the submission of LOD 500 construction drawings.
  • Support client approval processes for design basis reports and material selections.

    • Onsite & Technical Support :

  • Provide design and estimation support during project execution.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify installation quality and compliance with design criteria
  • Guide site teams in troubleshooting design-related challenges.

    • Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical / Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • 28 years of experience in plumbing and fire protection design & estimation
  • Strong knowledge of codes and best practices in plumbing and firefighting systems.

    • Skills :

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit (MEP), and BIM.
  • Strong BOQ preparation and cost estimation skills.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic modeling and fire system design software is an advantage.
