Position Title : Senior Associate Scientist

Job Purpose (Describe Briefly, Why This Position Exists)

Screening for interim / Final solid form, small scale crystallization development and milling / size reduction operations towards enabling drug development

Position level : 8-II

Function : PD-Biopharmaceutics (BPH)

Reports to (Designation ) : Lead Investigator

Principal Accountabilities / Responsibilities (Describe in bullet points, the duties and tasks of this position)

Polymorph and salt screening of NCEs to enable form endorsements for IND TOX and FIH. Small scale crystallization process development and jet milling activities. Handling instruments for solid-state characterization like PXRD, DSC, TGA, DVS, Microscope, Hot stage and UPLC / HPLC. Record, summarize and present experimental results. Draft scientific reports. Prepare presentations for internal and external stakeholders and present them in relevant forums. Lab and inventory management. Good working knowledge of MS office and other relevant scientific software tools.

Qualification & Experience

M. Pharm / M.Sc. / M.Sc. Tech / M.S. Pharm Tech in Chemistry with 6 - 12 years relevant industrial experience with basic understanding and sound knowledge of polymorph and salt / co-crystal screening techniques.

Skills

Understanding and sound knowledge of polymorph and salt screening techniques, basic knowledge of solid state characterization techniques and preferably having hands on experience with techniques like PXRD, DSC, TGA, DVS, UPLC / HPLC, good understanding of thermodynamics and kinetics, basics of nucleation and crystal growth
