Position Overview
The Senior Valve Draughtsman is responsible for creating detailed technical drawings and designs for valve systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed technical drawings for valve assemblies, components, and systems using CAD software
- Interpret engineering specifications, sketches, and verbal instructions to create accurate designs
- Ensure all drawings comply with relevant standards (ISO, ASME, API, etc.)
- Review and modify existing drawings based on design changes or client feedback
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and production teams
- Prepare bill of materials (BOM) and technical documentation
- Conduct design calculations and tolerance analysis
- Maintain drawing archives and version control
- Mentor junior draughtsmen and provide technical guidance
- Liaise with clients to clarify technical requirements

Required Qualifications
National Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Draughting, or related fieldMinimum 5-7 years’ experience in valve or mechanical draughtingProficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor)Strong knowledge of valve types, components, and manufacturing processesUnderstanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)Familiarity with industry standards (API 6D, ASME B16.34, ISO 5211, etc.)Key Competencies
