Job description

Role :

Create snappy, Half as Interesting–style explainer animations that make YouTube viewers watch to the end. You’ll turn scripts + VO + notes marking which parts to animate into crisp 2D / 2.5D motion : charts, maps, kinetic text, on‑screen UI / email callouts, and playful visual gags.

What You'll Do :

  • Animate sections as marked in our notes (we specify which parts need motion).
  • Build clean, modular scenes with smooth easing, anticipation / overshoot, and tasteful motion blur.
  • Turn numbers into clear animated charts (bars, lines, counters) and simple vector maps (zooms, routes, highlights)— illustrative accuracy , not GIS.
  • Craft kinetic typography and on‑screen text through objects (e.g., email UI that zooms to a line and highlights it).
  • Design creative data representations (comparisons, timelines, progress meters) from provided assets.
  • Produce animations on top of Google Maps screen recordings when needed (routes, pins, callouts).
  • Deliver clean renders of animated segments (project files only if requested).

You'll Thrive If You Have :

  • 3–5 years’ experience in animation / motion graphics for explainers / education / YouTube.
  • Strong timing and typography; graph‑editor literacy by practice (tool‑agnostic).
  • Comfort working fast— same‑day / next‑day turns when news is fresh.
  • Organized layers / precomps and tidy exports.
  • Fluent English communication (read / write) for briefs and feedback.
