Job description

Job Title : Windows System Administrator

Experience Required : 5+ Years

Location : Nashik

Department : IT Infrastructure / Cloud Operations

Role Overview

The Windows System Administrator will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing Windows-based infrastructure and virtualized environments across on-premises and cloud data centers. The role ensures availability, security, and performance of critical systems, supports incident and change management, and contributes to automation, patching, and compliance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities :

1. System Administration

Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server OS (2016 / 2019 / 2022).

Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, WSUS, and related infrastructure services.

Handle server provisioning, upgrades, patch management, and system hardening.

Monitor server performance and capacity; ensure uptime SLAs are met.

2. Virtualization & Cloud

Manage VMware / Hyper-V environments including creation, migration, and backup of VMs.

Work with cloud-based infrastructure (Azure / AWS) for hybrid or migration projects.

Optimize virtual resources and ensure high availability configurations.

3. Backup, Recovery & Security

Configure and monitor backup jobs (Veeam, Commvault, etc.) and ensure DR readiness.

Implement OS-level security configurations and antivirus / endpoint protection.

Conduct regular patching and vulnerability remediation.

Manage access controls and permissions across systems.

4. Automation & Monitoring

Implement PowerShell scripting for routine tasks and system automation.

Integrate and maintain monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios, etc.) for proactive alerts.

Create dashboards and generate performance reports.

5. Incident, Change, and Problem Management

Respond to incidents, troubleshoot root causes, and ensure timely resolution.

Follow ITIL-based change management practices for updates and deployments.

Maintain proper documentation and configuration records.

6. Collaboration & Support

Work closely with NOC, Security, and Network teams to maintain infrastructure health.

Support application, database, and security teams for system-related dependencies.

Mentor junior administrators and provide L2 / L3 escalation support.

Backup & Recovery (Veeam / Commvault)

Azure / AWS cloud familiarity

Soft Skills :

Strong analytical and problem-solving ability

Excellent communication and documentation skills

Team player with customer-oriented approach

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Microsoft Certified : Windows Server / Azure Administrator (preferred).

VMware or ITIL certification is an added advantage.
