Credit Analyst (OTC)

Key Responsibilities :

1. Negotiate, manage and administer global credit insurance policy on behalf of all UK operating businesses, agreeing the policy with senior management of selected credit insurers and brokers

2. Ensure that credit reviews are planned and performed to timetable and in accordance with all procedures , requirements and standards.

3. Develop and maintain systems aimed at producing a reliable assessment of the credit worthiness of customers (including : appropriate systems of financial analysis, procurement of best fit credit agency information, gathering of up to date market intelligence, and analysis of customer payment performance), and as appropriate make available information on profitability of sales to customers.

4. Depending upon the credit limit required, approve or recommend the approval of credit limits in accordance with all procedures, requirements and standards.

5. In conjunction with senior credit managers, develop and maintain systems to pro-actively manage exposure levels in line with approved credit limits.

6. In conjunction with senior credit managers provide specialist credit advice and guidance to the BU Finance and Commercial teams, and work with other FSS managers and section leaders to deliver a consistent service across FSS.

7. Manage credit insurance policies effectively to ensure policies are reviewed and their relevance to BU commercial and financial procedures is understood, that BUs are made aware of policy requirements and their relevance, that performance is monitored and reports produced where conditions apply and acted upon where these conditions are not met, and that premiums are calculated and paid in line with policy requirements.

8. Identify opportunities, in conjunction with the Credit and Risk Management Manager, for continuous process improvement in the credit management operation.

9. Develop and maintain KPIs for both credit analysts and credit managers which will allow for accurate, full and continuous assessment of performance.

10. Continuously monitor all SLAs to ensure they are met and service is delivered to end users as expected, taking prompt action to resolve any issues that arise and anticipating future problems based on emerging developments and trend.

11. Lead, develop, motivate and manage high calibre staff to ensure that adequate resource and skills are available within the team to achieve the goals of the department to a high professional standard, ensuring effective controls with segregation of duties at all times and full maintenance of records of all staff activities.

12. Maintain controls to a state of audit readiness at all times, ensuring all data is record ed fully and up to date.
