Description :
SAP Product Costing Consultant
Role Overview :
The SAP Product Costing Consultant will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) specializing in the design, configuration, and implementation of complex Product Costing (CO-PC) solutions within the SAP S / 4HANA environment.
This crucial role focuses on establishing rigorous Standard Costing and accurate Actual Costing methodologies utilizing the Material Ledger (ML) to ensure precise inventory valuation and effective profitability analysis (CO-PA integration).
The incumbent will own the operational integrity of all costing processes, including period-end closing activities, variance analysis, and alignment with financial reporting standards.
Core Responsibilities and Deliverables :
- S / 4HANA Costing Implementation : Lead the design and delivery of CO-PC solutions, including both Standard Costing (e.g., CK11N / CK40N) and Actual Costing (via Material Ledger) for new implementations or migration projects on the SAP S / 4HANA platform.
- Material Ledger Ownership : Take full ownership of the Material Ledger (ML) configuration and operation, including activation, configuration of currency types, valuation views, and handling parallel valuation / transfer pricing scenarios.
- ML Period-End Closing : Manage and execute the end-to-end Material Ledger closing process (CKMLCP) to accurately calculate and post the Actual Cost Component Split and revalue inventory, ensuring compliance with both statutory and management accounting principles.
- Cost Estimate Management : Oversee the structure, execution, and troubleshooting of cost estimate runs for finished goods, semi-finished goods, and raw materials, incorporating accurate raw material prices, Bills of Material (BOMs), and Routings / Recipes.
- Production Order Costing : Configure and manage Cost Object Controlling (COC), including settlement profiles, variance keys, and results analysis, for both Product Cost by Order (PCO) and Product Cost by Period (PCP) environments.
- In-Depth Variance Analysis : Conduct deep-dive, granular variance analysis (e.g., price variance, quantity variance, mix variance, labor, and overhead variances) from production and settlement processes to provide actionable insights to business leadership.
- Integration and Data Flow : Ensure seamless and validated data flow integration points between CO-PC and critical modules, including Production Planning (PP), Inventory Management (MM), Sales and Distribution (SD), and Financial Accounting (FI), ensuring accuracy in the Universal Journal (ACDOCA).
- Documentation and Support : Prepare detailed functional specifications, configuration guides, and end-user training documentation. Provide advanced Level 3 support for complex costing and ML closing issues during and post-go-live.
