As a data management specialist at Gallup, you'll process global survey data from the Gallup World Poll's face-to-face, phone and web surveys — transforming raw responses into structured, high-quality datasets ready for analysis and reporting. With a strong understanding of the full survey research life cycle — from questionnaire design and sampling to data weighting and interpretation — you'll ensure accuracy, integrity and reproducibility across every step. You'll document complex processes, identify opportunities to streamline workflows, and collaborate with technology and research partners to continuously improve our global data pipelines.

What You'll Do
- Perform data processing tasks in line with project specifications to convert raw data to final, client-ready deliverables; these tasks may include merging data, recoding and creating derived variables, coding open-ended responses, removing personally identifiable information (PII), resolving missing values via imputation, and other tasks
- Conduct quality checks on datasets (raw and final) to ensure alignment with questionnaire logic, skip patterns and project requirements
- Develop, refine, implement and document data cleaning rules in collaboration with project teams
- Merge, standardize and harmonize datasets from different sources
- Support project teams to explore data relationships
- Conduct data analysis in partnership with a statistician
- Clearly document all data processing steps in clear, reproducible formats to support transparency, reproducibility and quality control
- Source, integrate, process and maintain GPS shapefiles and other geospatial datasets

Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferredAt least three years of experience managing and processing survey data requiredProficiency in R requiredProficiency in Python and / or SQL preferredExperience with data documentation standards including use of metadata and codebooks preferredWorking knowledge of geospatial analysis and tools preferredA commitment to working on-site at Gallup's Bangalore office at least three days a week requiredEligibility to work in India required; this position is not eligible for employment visa sponsorshipWhat You'll Experience
