Job description7+ years building streaming / data-in-motion solutions; 3+ years focused on Kafka (Confluent Cloud strongly preferred). 3+ years hands-on experience with Apache Flink (Flink SQL) ; expert in writing and tuning complex Flink queries. Strong troubleshooting skills with Kafka and Flink . Excellent communication and documentation skills; ability to translate requirements into robust streaming designs. Experience with Confluent Cloud Flink (managed) , ksqlDB , and Kafka Streams . Cloud experience ( Azure ) and observability stacks ( Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana ).

We are seeking a hands-on engineer with deep expertise in Confluent Cloud Kafka and Apache Flink . The ideal candidate will design, build, and operate real-time streaming pipelines and analytics , write and optimize complex Flink SQL queries , and administer Confluent Cloud environments including topic management and schema governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and optimize Apache Flink streaming jobs .
- Administer Confluent Cloud Kafka environments.
- Develop and maintain Java-based streaming components .
- Enforce security and compliance standards : TLS, RBAC / ACLs, schema governance, secrets management, and audit logging.
- Collaborate with data engineers, SREs, and product teams to define SLAs / SLOs and data contracts.
- Review designs and PRs, mentor engineers on streaming best practices, and contribute to standards and documentation .
