Job description

🧠 Project-based | 4 Months | Remote + Field Visits | Starts Late October

At Balance Mental Space (BMS) , we are designing a system that meets people where they actually are.

We’re currently developing a Group Support Therapy Model — an intervention designed to bring structured, evidence-based group support to community and institutional settings across India.

To bring this vision to life, we’re inviting a Clinical Psychologist with both clinical expertise and research design skills to co-create this model with us.

🔍 Role Overview

This is not a typical therapy role — it’s a chance to co-develop a psychological product from concept to validation.

You’ll collaborate directly with Deepak Gupta (Counselling Psychologist & Founder, BMS) to conceptualise, pilot, and publish a scalable group therapy framework that blends evidence-based psychology with Indian cultural contexts.

🧩 Key Responsibilities

A. Model Development (First 15 Days)

  • Co-create a theoretical group therapy model.
  • Integrate evidence-based modalities (CBT, DBT, ACT, or mindfulness-based approaches)
  • Develop structure, flow, and intervention tools & tests.

B. Pilot & Data Collection (Next 3 Months)

  • Guide implementation and supervise quality control
  • Conduct data collection, analysis, and feedback review
  • Participate in onsite visits for quality verification
  • C. Research Paper & Publication (Final 15 Days)

  • Contribute to writing and co-authoring the research publication
  • Support data interpretation and insights documentation
  • 🎓 Required Qualifications

  • MA or M.Phil or PhD in Clinical Psychology (RCI registered preferred)
  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in group counselling, community-based mental health, or framework design
  • Strong grounding in evidence-based psychotherapies
  • Experience or interest in curriculum development , psychometric tool design , or intervention research
  • 💡 Project Details

  • Type : Project-based, part-time collaboration
  • Duration : 120 days (Late October – February)
  • Work Mode : Mostly remote, with short field visits during pilot
  • Collaboration : With the BMS founder and research team
  • 💰 Compensation & Authorship

This is a collaborative research and development project .

    The role offers :

  • Co-authorship on the research publication
  • Intellectual recognition as a co-developer of the Group Support Therapy Model
  • Future monetary compensation , once the developed model transitions to its implementation phase
  • This opportunity is ideal for psychologists who value research, innovation, and long-term impact more than immediate remuneration — and wish to be part of a meaningful national mental health initiative.

    🌱 Why Join BMS

You’ll be part of a young and impact-driven mental health ecosystem that believes in building practical, scalable, and culturally relevant mental health models for India.

This project presents an opportunity to blend academic research with real-world impact and to help shape the way group therapy is practised in India.
