Job Summary :
Action For India (AFI), a pioneer in supporting social entrepreneurs, is looking for a visionary and strategic Chief Operating Officer (COO). This senior leadership position is a blend of strategic planning and operational execution, aiming to expand AFI's reach and impact. The COO will report to the Board of Directors, collaborating with the Chairman to define and implement the organization's strategy. You will be responsible for ensuring programmatic excellence, financial sustainability, and guiding a young, dynamic team. The ideal candidate can balance delegation with direct involvement, driving AFI's mission forward.
Key Responsibilities :
- Strategic Leadership : You will lead the development and execution of AFI's comprehensive strategic plan, providing the strategic direction necessary to align all activities with the organization's core mission and values. This includes the design and implementation of innovative programs that amplify AFI's impact.
- Program Management : You will oversee project managers and resource allocation to guarantee the high-quality execution of programs. Your responsibilities will also include defining and monitoring key performance metrics, implementing risk mitigation protocols, and upgrading frameworks for impact evaluation.
- Resource Mobilization : Working with the Chairman and Board, you will develop and execute an integrated fundraising strategy. This includes pursuing diverse funding streams, managing donor relationships, and overseeing grant writing for various institutional and individual donors.
- Stakeholder Management : A key part of your role is to build and nurture relationships with social entrepreneurs, investors, mentors, and government agencies. You will represent AFI at national and international forums and engage on social media to promote the organization's services.
- Financial Management : You will be responsible for overseeing the organization's budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting. Your role ensures compliance with donor requirements and maintains strong financial controls and transparency.
- Team Leadership : You will foster a culture of collaboration and accountability, building and mentoring high-performing teams. You will also implement effective change management and resource management protocols to support the team's growth.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Core Experience :
A minimum of 10 years of senior leadership experience in the non-profit, social enterprise, or corporate sectors.A proven track record in strategic program implementation, fundraising, and team management.Demonstrated experience in leading organizations through significant growth and change.Professional Attributes :
Strong financial management skills, with experience in budget management and multilateral financial reporting.Excellence in stakeholder management and communication.Proven success in fundraising and donor relations.Education & Domain :
A Bachelor's degree is required, with an advanced degree in business, public administration, or a related field preferred.
A deep understanding of the social entrepreneurship ecosystem is essential.
