Assistant accountant

Kindly note- This requirement is for one of our client located in Mulund, Mumbai.

Role Overview :

This position based in our Mulund, Mumbai office is for a full-time Assistant Accountant for Finance Department based in India. The Assistant Accountant will work with the Senior Accountant based in Mumbai and the Finance team there and in Hereford in the UK and will be responsible for a variety of tasks including maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements and assisting with the month-end closing processes. They will work with accounts payable and receivable and reconcile bank accounts. Strong Microsoft Excel and accounting software skills are essential, as is a solid understanding of accounting principles and be part qualified in a recognised accounting qualification.

Roles and Responsibilities :

Assisting in the preparation and maintenance of

accurate financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and the

general ledger.

↘ Reconciling bank statements and investigating any discrepancies.

↘ Preparing and processing invoices, ensuring timely and accurate recording of payments.

↘ Contributing to the preparation of financial reports, such as balance sheets, profit and loss accounts and cash-flow statements.

↘ Participating in the month-end closing procedures, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.

↘ Providing support for audits and assisting with the preparation of audit schedules and documentation.

↘ Keeping up-to-date with changes in accounting principles and best practices.
