We're looking for passionate and detail-oriented Direct Tax Litigation Associates to join our tax and legal team. This role offers a dynamic opportunity to work on high-impact tax litigation, advisory, and compliance matters. Whether you're a Chartered Accountant (CA) or Law Graduate (LLB) — a recent graduate with internship experience or a professional with up to 5 years in direct taxation — this position allows you to deepen your expertise in taxation, gain courtroom exposure, and contribute to strategic client advisory projects.

Key Responsibilities

Litigation Support & Case Management

Prepare and review replies, appeals, and submissions for income tax assessments, reassessments, and appellate proceedings.

Assist in drafting petitions and briefs for appearances before Assessing Officers (AO), CIT(A), ITAT, and High Courts .

Support senior counsel and partners in formulating litigation strategy and case arguments.

Liaise with tax authorities and clients to ensure timely submissions and hearings.

Research & Advisory

Conduct detailed research on tax laws, circulars, judicial precedents, and amendments to support case positions.

Draft legal opinions and advisory notes on complex tax and cross-border matters.

Analyze recent case laws to identify emerging trends and implications for clients.

Client Coordination & Documentation

Manage documentation, filings, and responses for ongoing appeals and assessments.

Collaborate with client teams to gather facts, prepare submissions, and track case progress.

Maintain organized records and trackers for all litigation and advisory engagements.

Tax Compliance & Strategy

Assist in providing direct tax advisory on corporate taxation, transfer pricing, and international tax issues.

Support clients in structuring transactions to ensure tax efficiency and compliance.

What Makes You a Great Fit

Qualification : Chartered Accountant (CA) or Law Graduate (LLB).

Experience : 0–5 years of hands-on experience in direct tax litigation, advisory, or assessment proceedings .

Strong understanding of the Income Tax Act, 1961 , and procedural aspects of litigation.

Excellent drafting, research, and analytical skills , with a focus on precision and clarity.

Effective communication and client-handling abilities .

Ability to work collaboratively under tight timelines and manage multiple assignments.
