About the Role :
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented QA Automation Engineer to join our engineering team in Bangalore. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automation test scripts to ensure the reliability, performance, and quality of software applications. The ideal candidate should have strong programming skills, a solid understanding of Linux operating systems, and prior experience with automation frameworks and tools.
This is a hands-on position that requires collaboration with developers, QA teams, and product managers to deliver robust and high-quality products. Candidates with exposure to electronics and IC design will have an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities :
Automation Development & Execution :
- Design, build, and maintain automation test scripts using Python, Perl, or C++.
- Execute automated test suites to validate software functionality, performance, and scalability.
Test Planning & Design :
Collaborate with developers and QA leads to identify test requirements and create detailed test plans.Ensure test coverage across functional, regression, integration, and system testing.Defect Tracking & Reporting :
Identify, log, and track bugs using tools like Jira.Provide detailed reports on test progress, coverage, and quality metrics.Work with automation tools and integrate test frameworks into CI / CD pipelines using Jenkins, Git, or other industry-standard tools.Enhance and maintain automated regression test suites for continuous testing.Linux Environment :
Perform testing and troubleshooting in Linux OS environments.Write shell scripts and commands to support automation and test Collaboration :Work closely with developers, QA engineers, and product managers to ensure timely delivery of high quality releases.Participate in design reviews and provide input on testability and quality Advantage :Apply basic electronics knowledge for testing software that interacts with IC (Integrated Circuit) designs or hardware components.Required Qualifications :
3- 5 years of hands-on experience in QA automation or related roles.Strong working knowledge of Linux operating systems.Proficiency in programming / scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or C++.Practical experience with automation tools and frameworks.Familiarity with software development tools such as Jira, Jenkins, and Git.Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.Preferred Skills (Good to Have) :
Basic knowledge of electronics and IC design concepts.Exposure to performance testing and system-level testing.Knowledge of containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).Understanding of Agile / Scrum methodologies.Experience with version control and collaborative development practices.What We Offer :
