Position Overview
The SharePoint Technical Lead is responsible for architecting, developing, and implementing enterprise SharePoint solutions while providing technical leadership to development teams. This role combines deep SharePoint expertise with leadership responsibilities to drive digital transformation and collaboration initiatives across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Architecture
- Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of SharePoint Online and on-premises solutions
- Architect enterprise-wide collaboration portals, content management systems, and workflow automation tools
- Design hybrid SharePoint environments, ensuring seamless integration with Microsoft 365
- Provide technical guidance on SharePoint best practices, governance, and security frameworks
- Lead code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and coding best practices
Solution Delivery & Development
Manage the SharePoint product life cycle including project design, issue resolution, and deploymentLead analysis / requirements gathering, design, configuration, implementation / testing, and support of SharePoint solutionsDevelop custom SharePoint solutions using SharePoint Framework (SPFx), web parts, and extensionsCreate and maintain SharePoint site collections, libraries, lists, and content typesImplement workflow solutions using Power Automate and SharePoint DesignerDevelop custom applications using SharePoint APIs, REST services, and Microsoft GraphTeam Leadership & Management
Prioritize, assign and monitor application design and development tasks across multiple concurrent projectsMentor and guide junior developers and SharePoint administratorsPromote SDLC conformance, industry design standards and development principlesMigration & Modernization
Lead migration projects from legacy SharePoint versions to SharePoint Online / Microsoft 365Modernize existing SharePoint solutions and migrate to modern SharePoint experiencesPlan and execute content migration strategies with minimal business disruptionAssess and recommend modernization approaches for classic SharePoint sites and workflowsGovernance & Compliance
Establish and maintain SharePoint governance policies and proceduresImplement security controls, permissions management, and compliance frameworksMonitor SharePoint performance, usage analytics, and system healthEnsure adherence to organizational data management and retention policiesImplement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity strategiesRequired Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field10-12+ years of experience in SharePoint development and administrationTechnical Skills
SharePoint Expertise :
Deep knowledge of SharePoint Online, SharePoint 2019 / 2016 / 2013, and hybrid environmentsProficiency in SharePoint Framework (SPFx), web parts, and modern SharePoint developmentExperience with SharePoint Designer, InfoPath, and Power Platform integrationStrong understanding of SharePoint architecture, site collections, and information architectureDevelopment Skills
