Summary of Role :

Oversee the design, implementation, deployment and maintenance of network infrastructure. Ensure the continuous and secure flow of data between operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) systems, implementing advanced wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi 6 and private 5G to support robust connectivity, automation, and real-time data monitoring.

The Candidate will also focus on disaster recovery and business continuity planning to minimize operational disruptions and ensure rapid recovery from any incidents affecting network services. The position demands high technical expertise in network design, configuration, and troubleshooting, along with strong vendor management and collaboration skills.

Job Accountabilities :

1. Manage the design, deployment, and maintenance of network infrastructure, ensuring high availability, low latency, redundancy and security.

2. Collaborate with production and IT teams to align network infrastructure with the operational needs of continuous production processes.

3. Lead the installation and configuration of routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points, ensuring optimal performance and security.

4. Monitor and troubleshoot network performance, identifying potential bottlenecks and ensuring minimal downtime.

5. Plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, and modernization initiatives that include security features and future-ready wireless infrastructure solutions like Private 5G, WIFI 6.

6. Ensure network scalability to support future production needs and business growth.

7. Implement and enforce network security policies and controls in alignment with organization policies.

8. Manage relationships with network vendors and external partners to ensure timely delivery, implementation and support for network hardware and services.

9. Develop redundancy strategies to prevent network failures and ensure the continuous availability of production data.

10. Oversee documentation and compliance with network management standards and protocols, ensuring adherence to industry best practices.

Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills) :

1. Proficient in designing and managing large-scale production network deployment, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless solutions.

2. Strong knowledge of network security practices and protocols, including VPN, intrusion detection, and VLAN management.

3. Experience in implementing OT / IT network integration and proficient in managing both wired and wireless network infrastructure, with experience in optimizing systems for large-scale industrial use.

4. Expertise in troubleshooting network issues and implementing solutions in a time-sensitive production environment.

5. Ability to manage vendor relationships and drive continuous improvements in network performance.

6. Strong communication and project management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.

Key Attributes (Experience and Qualifications) :

1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.

2. 10+ years of experience in managing production floor network infrastructure in manufacturing or industrial environments.

3. Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade network equipment (like Cisco, Juniper) and network monitoring tools.

4. Proven experience in leading network architecture projects and managing security protocols.
