Senior Civil Engineer

Your Purpose

As a Civil Engineer (Infrastructure), you will design and deliver water and wastewater infrastructure projects, focusing on applying engineering principles to provide practical, value-for-money solutions. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to produce high-quality designs and ensure that all work meets safety, technical, and environmental standards. This role offers the opportunity to work remotely, leading projects from feasibility through to construction and providing expertise in pipeline and infrastructure design.

What You’ll Be Doing

Deliver clean water and wastewater infrastructure projects, applying engineering principles to produce innovative, cost-effective designs.

Oversee the design and coordination of multidisciplinary teams to deliver pipeline designs, including pressure and gravity flow systems.

Conduct design development from feasibility studies, optioneering, and detailed design through to final delivery.

Prepare and review design documentation, including Impact and Commissioning plans, ensuring compliance with technical standards and specifications.

Ensure designs are safe and in compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, including the preparation of Health and Safety Files.

Assist in responding to technical queries and propose practical solutions to site challenges.

Contribute to project delivery, managing sub-consultants, and ensuring designs are produced on time, within scope, and on budget.

Participate in site surveys, risk assessments, and mitigation planning, ensuring designs align with site conditions.

Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and foster collaborative relationships.

Qualifications and Experience Required

M Minimum B. Tech / M. Tech from an institution of repute.

Extensive knowledge and experience of design in the water industry.

An appreciation of the implications of works on the environment and knowledge of sustainable solutions, water and wastewater processes and health and safety legislation.

The ability to work with engineers from all disciplines and other industry professionals to optimise and develop bespoke and innovative designs.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, REVIT or Plant 3D as well as MS Office Software.

Strong interpersonal / team working skills, with a good working relationship with all levels of the organisation, clients and contractors

Key points :

A degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent experience).

Experience in the design of pipeline projects within the water and wastewater industry.

Strong knowledge of pipeline construction techniques, materials, and their applications.

Familiarity with computer-aided design and modelling tools.

Experience in preparing design risk assessments and managing design quality.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

An enthusiasm for continuous learning and applying innovative solutions in design.

Experience in managing project design outputs and working within a Design & Build environment is advantageous.

A proactive approach to learning and development, with a keen interest in embracing new technologies and improving efficiency.
