Head – Internal Audit for a leading bank in Mumbai
The Head of Internal Audit is responsible for providing independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve the organization's operations. This role helps the organization accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluating and improving the effectiveness of risk management, internal controls, and governance processes.
Key Objectives :
- Develop and execute a comprehensive, risk-based internal audit plan covering all key areas of the bank's operations, including credit, market, operational, compliance, and IT risks.
- Ensure internal audit activities comply with applicable banking regulations, standards (e.g., Basel III, IIA standards), and local regulatory requirements (e.g., central bank guidelines).
- Provide assurance that the bank is operating within its regulatory framework
- 15+ Years practical Banking Experience having knowledge in both Assets as well as Liabilities including treasury and Trade Finance. Of which at least 5 years must be as Head-Audit, reporting to Audit Committee of the Board. The incumbent must possess overall knowledge about IT systems audits, Credit Audits and also must be a subject matter expert in any one specialized area i.e Treasury, Trade Finance & / or Information system.
- The incumbent should be tech-savvy and proficient in leveraging modern audit tools and technologies to drive operational efficiencies, enhance risk management, and ensure compliance. They must be capable of utilizing data analytics, automation, and digital platforms to deliver insightful, timely, and value-added audit outcomes.
Preference will be to the person having working experience in Audit Dept. for at least 15 years and worked in similar position in any other bank for at least 5 years.
