Job description

Position Title : Senior AppDynamics Observability SME

Required Qualifications :

  • 8+ years of experience in IT operations, system administration, or engineering
  • 3 + years experience leading people and / or leading large-scale projects
  • 2+ years experience working with automation concepts and tools like Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, Python to develop configuration, deployment, and orchestration workflows

Specific Skill-Set Requirements :

  • In specific with AppDynamics experience with :
  • machine agent installation and troubleshooting (Windows and Linux at minimum)
  • app agent installation, and troubleshooting (mainly Java, .NET, Node JS, etc.)
  • db agent installation, troubleshooting and db collector configuration.
  • End User monitoring (nice to have)
  • Synthetics (nice to have)
  • Post agent enablement tasks :
  • AppD Application config customization (including BTs, Thresholds, BT detection, etc.)
  • Health Rules
  • Policies
  • Actions
  • Dashboards

    • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Proven expertise in observability, monitoring, and performance management of large-scale, distributed systems
  • Strong knowledge of modern observability tools (e.g., App Dynamics, Cisco Cloud Observability, Prometheus, Grafana,

    • App Dynamics, ELK stack, DynaTrace, New Relic) and related practices

  • Experience with both legacy systems and modern cloud-native technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, microservices, serverless)
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with both technical teams and

    • business stakeholders, presenting findings and plans, and documenting systems and processes

  • Ability to own problems end-to-end, and willingness to obtain any required knowledge to get the job done
  • Ability to lead matrix teams to achieve complex goals with a strong sense of accountability and integrity
  • Ability to break down complex issues and develop innovative, comprehensive solutions
  • Excellent project and program management skills, with a track record of leading complex initiatives to successful

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on delivering actionable insights and improvements
