Job Summary
The Principal leads the design teams during design delivery and manages design activities of water resources projects in K&A.He is the main counterpart of Project Managers and a key support in client interactions. He works closely with Project Managers for the review and validation of design deliverables and monitors the checking and reviews of all design phases and ensures the proper implementation of all related adjustments and revisions. The jobholder conducts design value engineering in coordination with the Project Manager and design teams. He supports the Project Manager with budget, schedule,client, technical and quality management activities on projects. He shall stay abreast of the latest trends and developments in the water resources design market and represent the firm in the professional engineering and water resources infrastructure community, as needed.
Specific Experience
18+ years of experience in design in a top-tier regional / multinational engineering consultancy firm
Strong experience in large and complex water resources design projects
Exposure to global best practices and trends in Water Treatment, and Planning of Water Resources Projects.
1. Advanced knowledge of hydrology and hydraulics of groundwater and surface water
resources, natural treatment of wetlands, and water quality analysis.
2. Advanced knowledge of hydrology and hydraulics software and modeling tools such as
Modflow, WMS, MIKE, SMS, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and ArcGIS. Etc.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of river engineering and fluvial geomorphology.
4. Familiar with environmental impact assessment studies, surface water monitoring programs,
runoff water management, and environmental permitting
5. Possess strong analytical skills and have the ability to manage time and resources effectively
6. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
7. Review of design performed by the junior staff
8. Advanced experience in preparing design technical reports and tender documents
including design drawings, specifications, and BoQ.11. An ability to formulate and solve
advanced problems related to water resources issues
Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Civil or Environmental
Master’s Degree or higher in Water Resources Engineering or equivalent
Chartered Professional Engineering certification or equivalent is preferred
Skills
In-depth knowledge of water resources design and principles in the Middle East
Understanding of international engineering standards and codes
