The Digital Engineer is responsible for driving the digitalization of manufacturing and engineering processes across food and beverage operations. This role focuses on integrating smart technologies, automation systems, and data analytics to enhance productivity, traceability, and sustainability in line with Industry 4.0 principles.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement digital solutions for process automation, equipment monitoring, and predictive maintenance.
- Integrate OT (Operational Technology) systems with IT platforms such as MES, SCADA, PLCs, and ERP.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to digitize workflows and improve data visibility.
- Support the deployment of IoT sensors, edge computing devices, and cloud-based analytics platforms.
- Develop dashboards and reports for real-time performance tracking and decision-making.
- Ensure cybersecurity and data integrity across digital infrastructure.
- Evaluate emerging technologies (AI, ML, AR / VR) for potential application in manufacturing and utilities.
- Provide technical support and training to plant teams on digital tools and systems.
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Computer EngineeringExperience : 4–8 years in digital engineering, automation, or smart manufacturing within food, beverage, or FMCG sectorsTools : Experience with SCADA, PLCs (Siemens, Allen-Bradley), MES, OPC UA, and industrial networkingCertifications : Industry 4.0, ISA / IEC 62443, or cybersecurity certifications preferredRequired Skills
Strong problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and project execution skills; knowledge of GMP and food safety standards is a plusPreferred Skills
