We are seeking a Tool Design and Development professional to work on the design, development, and maintenance of tools for various components. This role involves creating detailed drawings, implementing design modifications, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Work on tolerance stack-ups and define assembly requirements.
- Support tooling development by preparing detailed drawings for both prototypes and final tooling.
- Implement design modifications and updates based on engineering changes or production feedback.
- Maintain all design and drawing documentation in line with internal standards.
- Apply material selection knowledge and basic process understanding to enhance part design and manufacturability.
- Participate in design reviews, contributing to value engineering and cost optimization initiatives as required.
Skills Required
Minimum 6 years of experience in tool design and development , with expertise in forging, casting, machining, polymer, and fabricated components.Proficient in industry-standard CAD tools such as AutoCAD, CATIA, SolidWorks, or Creo.Strong knowledge of GD&T principles and their practical application.Solid understanding of manufacturing processes related to tooling and component production.Skilled in interpreting complex engineering drawings and converting concepts into production-ready designs.Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and cross-functional working ability.Good grasp of material behavior and process capabilities.Exposure to electric vehicle components or prior experience in the 2-wheeler / automotive industry.Familiarity with APQP, DFM, and PPAP methodologies.Hands-on experience with tooling validation and tryout processes .Skills Required
