Lead Oracle DBA – OSS / BSS Transformation Program

We are seeking a Lead Oracle DBA to drive the database migration, upgrade, and DR implementation for a large-scale OSS / BSS Transformation Program . This includes transitioning Oracle Communications applications (Siebel, BRM, UIM, etc.) from VMware to OLVM , upgrading Oracle DBs to 19c / 23ai , and establishing a highly available DR setup using Data Guard .

Key Responsibilities :

Lead Oracle database migrations from VMware-based to OLVM -based environments.

Design and implement Oracle Data Guard (physical standby) for DR and failover.

Perform schema upgrades for Oracle Communications Suite (Siebel 24.x, BRM 12.x, UIM).

Optimize SQL queries, indexing, and database performance for transformed application stacks.

Implement and maintain RMAN backup strategies , validation, and monitoring.

Conduct AWR, ASH, and SQL tuning analysis to ensure post-upgrade performance.

Define database standards and best practices across DEV → UAT → PROD environments.

Collaborate with app teams, infrastructure, and project management on integration planning.

Mentor mid-level DBAs and guide database change management activities.

Required Skills & Experience :

10+ years of experience in Oracle Database Administration (12c → 19c / 23ai).

Proven experience with Oracle Data Guard , both configuration and operational management.

Strong knowledge of RMAN , recovery scenarios, and backup validation.

SQL performance tuning using AWR , ASH , Explain Plans .

Hands-on experience with Siebel , BRM , and / or UIM database schemas.

Understanding of database dependencies in OSS / BSS systems.

Experience with migration planning and cutover execution .

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
