Job description

Structural Engineer – Solar Projects

Responsibilities

  • Apply structural design principles to develop mounting solutions for Unirac’s customers.
  • Perform complex structural analysis for solar structures in harsh environments.
  • Develop and maintain engineering methodologies, tools, and design standards.
  • Interpret and apply building codes, wind / seismic study reports, and engineering rules to designs and tools.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial & Industrial team to provide technical consulting and support.
  • Partner with the Software Development team to create structural models for automated plan set tools.
  • Deliver product application training to colleagues via phone and webinars.
  • Contribute innovative, creative approaches to solving design challenges.

Skill Requirements

  • Experience : 5-10 years in structural engineering (solar experience preferred but not mandate).
  • Codes & Standards : Proficiency with AISC, ACI, IBC, ASCE, and jurisdiction-specific regulations.
  • Materials : Experience designing cold-formed & hot-rolled steel, aluminum, and concrete structures.
  • Software : Required – Excel & AutoCAD; Preferred – STAAD.
  • Programming : Experience with Visual Basic or structural engineering modeling software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage project profitability and maintain effective internal relationships.
