Role Description
As the Head of Interoperability & Integrations, you will play a critical leadership role in shaping the future of interoperability for cutting-edge AI-driven health-tech solutions. Based in Bangalore and reporting directly to executive leadership, this newly created role offers exceptional autonomy, the chance to influence enterprise-scale architecture, and the opportunity to work with breakthrough technologies including GenAI, MCP (Model Context Protocol), and next-generation integration frameworks.
Interoperability Strategy & Roadmap
- Define and execute a comprehensive interoperability strategy aligned with evolving customer needs, healthcare regulations, and emerging technologies.
- Own the end-to-end vision and execution for system integrations, external API strategies, and data exchange (e.G., FHIR, HL7, X12).
- Build a scalable, secure integration infrastructure that enables rapid onboarding of enterprise health systems and third-party partners.
- Integrate emerging frameworks such as MCP, contextual API orchestration, and multi-agent architectures into long-term interoperability strategy.
Technical Leadership & Execution
Collaborate across engineering (front-end, back-end, infra), product, and customer success teams to deliver seamless, production-grade integrations.Lead R&D initiatives in advanced technologies such as GenAI, synthetic data pipelines, real-time ingestion of clinical data, and intelligent automation.Architect and scale integration platforms supporting EHRs, claims engines, health information exchanges, patient-facing applications, and AI-powered workflows.Champion adoption and implementation of Model Context Protocol (MCP) to enable secure, standardized interaction between AI agents, clinical systems, and enterprise applications.Introduce modern interoperability tooling—schema mediation frameworks, schema registries, domain-driven data contracts, and multimodal semantic adapters.Innovation & Standards
Drive adoption of interoperability standards such as FHIR, HL7 v2, CDA, CCD, X12, EDI, OAuth2, SMART on FHIR, and next-gen contextual protocols like MCP.Evaluate and implement modern data exchange patterns including event-driven architectures, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, FHIR Bulk Data, and streaming architectures.Develop internal interoperability frameworks that scale across large, multi-tenant customer deployments.Stay at the forefront of policy changes, national initiatives, payer mandates, and evolving data models in the healthcare ecosystem.Lead evaluation and rollout of advanced AI-driven interoperability methods—LLM-based data normalization, automated mapping, semantic extraction, and zero-shot schema translation.Required Skills & Experience
Strong foundation in healthcare interoperability standards and technologies : FHIR, HL7v2, CDA, CCD, X12 / EDI, OAuth2, SMART on FHIR.Experience with integration engines (e.G., Mirth Connect, Redox, Rhapsody, InterSystems Ensemble) and EHR APIs (e.G., Epic, Cerner).Hands-on experience with iPaaS platforms and managed integration hubs.Deep understanding of backend systems, secure data pipelines, and modern API architecture.Familiarity with GenAI and its applications in interoperability, data extraction, summarization, mapping automation, and clinical insights.Experience with MCP, AI-native integration patterns, and contextual protocol orchestration is highly desirable.Proficiency in cloud-native development (AWS / GCP / Azure), Kubernetes, and microservices.Strong scripting and development skills in Python, Java, Node.Js, Go, with a focus on building scalable services.Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Health Informatics, or a related field.10+ years of experience in healthcare technology, integrations, or platform engineering.5+ years in a leadership or architectural role with direct responsibility for interoperability.Experience working with health-tech startups or scaling enterprise B2B platforms is highly desirable.Bonus : Experience in GenAI research or productization in a healthcare context;strong understanding ofMCP or multi-agent AI ecosystems.
Strong preference for candidates based in Bangalore or willing to relocate.Candidates from top universities is a plus
