Role Brief
The Manager - Training will drive the global sales and service training strategy for ELGi's direct and distributor networks. The role is responsible for building a world-class training framework, content, and delivery mechanisms that enhance sales effectiveness, service excellence, and customer outcomes across all regions. This position will partner closely with global product, aftermarket, sales, and service teams to ensure training impact translates into tangible improvements in win rates, margin realization, service KPIs (FTR / TTR), customer satisfaction, and distributor profitability.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
1. Training Strategy & Framework
- Develop and own a robust, industry-leading global training process for sales and service teams.
- Define training levels, curriculum, certification paths, and assessment standards.
- Build metrics to measure training effectiveness, adoption, and business impact.
2. Content Development & Deployment
Create state-of-the-art, user-friendly training content, tools, and digital platforms.Ensure content relevance across markets, customer segments, and product portfolios.Deliver training through blended modes-classroom, virtual, on-the-job, and e-learning.3. Stakeholder & Region Enablement
Collaborate with regional teams to build and manage training rosters globally.Track progress of trainees and ensure alignment with sales and service goals.Enable distributor training programs to improve customer experience, uptime, and profitability.4. Performance & Impact Measurement
Monitor improvements in win rates, pricing / margin realization, FTR / TTR, field failures, CSAT, and aftermarket revenue.Continuously refine training interventions based on feedback and performance insights.Key Skills & Experience Required
Degree in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or related field.8-12 years' experience in technical L&D, sales, aftermarket, or global technical training roles.Proven experience in designing and delivering training frameworks for industrial / B2B machinery.Strong understanding of sales processes, service operations, and customer lifecycle in an engineering environment.Ability to measure training effectiveness using metrics and analytics.Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and facilitation skills.Experience working in global, multi-regional environments preferred.(ref : iimjobs.com)
