Manager – Portfolio Operations

Role & responsibilities

  • Collections and Delinquency Management : Monitor month-on-month (MoM) numbers for 0–30-day overdue accounts. Respond promptly to requests from the collections team for CIBIL reports, KYC documents, and agreements to support efficient recovery of outstanding dues.
  • EMI Initiation Coordination : Contact education loan applicants or co-applicants to inform them about the start of their EMI payments. Clarify the difference between current instalment types and full EMIs and address any questions that arise during these communications.
  • Deferral Case Processing : Handle cases where applicants or co-applicants are unable to begin EMI payments due to reasons aligned with RBI / IBA guidelines and InCred's internal policies.
  • Bank Relationship Management : Oversee relationships with HSBC and Yes Bank, including opening new savings accounts, creating fixed deposits (FDs), placing and removing liens on FDs, and managing related MIS reports.
  • Internal Department Coordination : Manage inquiries from various internal teams such as collections legal, corporate legal, internal audit, compliance, secretarial, finance, and accounts payable.
  • Collaboration within Education Loan Operations : Work closely with EL Operations to support transaction processing and disbursement activities.
  • Customer Query Handling : Respond to customer service queries related to interest rates, upfront interest, and various charges.
  • Upfront Interest Shortfall Management : Coordinate with internal branch teams to investigate reasons for shortfalls in upfront interest collection and ensure outstanding amounts are recovered.
  • Forex Operations Support : Coordinate with forex vendors and serve as a backup for forex-related operations.
  • MIS Management : Prepare and share management information system (MIS) reports with various stakeholders within the organization.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Experience – 2-4 years
  • MBA degree preferred, providing a strong foundation in business management and operational excellence.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with fluency in English and Hindi (mandatory), and working knowledge of Telugu or Kannada highly preferred, enabling effective coordination across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and portfolio quality.
  • Hands-on experience in tracking and monitoring day-to-day delinquencies, EMI payments, and coordinating with branches, product teams, and collections for timely repayments.
  • Proven capability to collaborate with various internal departments and banking partners, managing queries and ensuring seamless operations across collections, legal, compliance, finance, and forex functions.
