Lead Studio Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities :

Lead Studio Engineering team at the Design Studio at Bangalore – mentor, guide, manage work with the team - to deliver to quality and timelines.

Assess, review and enable sign-off on solutions towards delivering design concepts.

Use knowledge to ensure feasible, accurate inputs to Creative design.

Drive benchmarking activities to capture technical information and product understanding to drive Design and Engineering.

Create quick vehicle concept proposals in CAD to achieve innovative and optimum design proposals.

Ideate and arrive at quick engineering solutions towards optimum and innovative proposals; ensure consideration of key vehicle requirements affecting Design (e.g., homologation, occupant package, human Factors) and ensure these are robustly delivered.

Provide guidance and facilitate Design and Engineering on all aspects of the Vehicle package (including power trains, occupant layout, customer touch points including reachability, visibility, usability, etc) and perform feasibility checks through creating compelling concept packages.

Lead master section creation, develop DTS targets, define & monitor Optical Quality.

Interface; arbitrate / negotiate cross-functionally with the Engineering; CFT to deliver solutions to technical challenges, making sure that design intent is maintained.

Ensure released surfaces are aligned with agreements and decisions made by the line manager.

Play an active role in the Product Development Process in the design studio, be a vital part of the design and development process

Own responsibility for resolution of regulatory, engineering, manufacturing and tooling aspects across all stages of vehicle development.

Own all data verification and data integrity across data exchanges between design and

engineering.

Manage data management on PLM; Collate and exchange data for studio inputs and design releases.

Experience & Skills :

Understanding of various engineering processes (Sheet Metal Design, Plastic moulding processes, Electrical systems, etc) with sensitivity to creative design requirements.

Proficiency in CAD (CATIA, UG) is a must. Working Experience in CAVA Architecture, RAMSIS / NX Human Digital Human Manikin Assessment is a must.

Experience in 2W, 3W, 4W EVs at an automotive studio will be a plus.

Experience in making quick package verification models and configuring bucks is a must.

Qualifications :

12+ years of experience with automotive studios with contribution to production design programs.

Degree / Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering is a must.
